Impact International Procurement Limited (IIP) was incorporated in July 2008 by the current managing director Colin Snead . The company was born from a vision that western European bus manufacturers could significantly benefit from huge cost savings by re-sourcing their purchased commodities to Eastern European countries. The basis of this idea stemmed from the managing directors extensive 3 years experience working as the purchasing manager for an OE bus manufacturer in Hungary. Gaining unprecedented knowledge on the supply chain in Eastern Europe, where the rules on large volumes normally governing Chinese and Indian manufacturing facilities do not apply, it was evident that if managed in the correct way bus manufacturers in the west could also take advantage of low cost commodities without the need for high volumes.
It wasn’t long before the major bus manufacturers started to listen to what IIP had to say with both OE manufacturers and key players in the aftermarket enlisted the help of IIP’s low cost country sourcing expertise. In April 2009 IIP assisted Hungarian body builder General Services with the purchasing of all chassis components for the manufacture of buses for the Volan group.
Since incorporation back in July 2008 Impact International Procurement has continued its development to accommodate all aspects of the supply chain under its umbrella. IIP Secured an exclusive license to sell and distribute parts and components for the Plasma Bus chassis (previously manufactured by Enterprise Bus) in August 2008 which has given IIP a direct route for part sales to operators, building it’s strength as a distributor for other branded parts and components.
Always an ambassador for not only a competitive market place but also a greener environment, IIP teamed up with partner KMGY an instrument and sensor manufacturer to develop a new adblue level sensor for use in the new Euro 5 emission regulated vehicles. The success of this combined with the successful implementation of the other core elements of the business has lead IIP to move into new premises in Budapest and take on new employees in a time of economic crisis. Furthermore IIP have earned the esteemed badge of distributor for KMGY products, Ditas products and continues to add value to their portfolio by establishing a logistics branch to their operations.
In the space of a year IIP has earned it’s self the reputation as the number one choice for low cost parts and sourcing in the bus industry and will continue to strive and expand to meet the needs of it’s customers.
